The psychology of perception is the process of recognizing and interpreting sensory stimuli. This course begins by introducing you to the process of sensation that leads to perception. You will learn about various sensory mechanisms such as visual, auditory, olfactory etc.

In this course you will learn about external factors and psychophysical concepts that play a role in perceptual processes. You will also learn about the figure ground relationship and the theory of signal detection and its application in everyday life.

Next, you will be introduced to the Gestalt Principles and learn about how their aid in the perceptual process. You will learn about form perception which includes monocular and binocular cues. You will also learn about how culture can influence our perception and distortions in perception.
