Only an experienced automotive electrician can find most wiring problems. As the vehicle owner, you should know your vehicle better than anyone. During your routine inspection of the engine compartment, look at the wires. Even if you don’t know what the wires are for, look at them. Notice the colors. Take note of where each wire comes from and where it ends up.

During your regular maintenance inspection you might notice a wire that’s out of place. If you’ve been checking the wires for months, you should know that the green wire goes behind the air filter. Why is it suddenly in front of the air filter? Put it back where it belongs.
